Peter Richardson’s recent films include the twice nominated ‘Hunt for Tony Blair’ and 'Redtop' a satire on the phone hacking scandal and 'Five Go To Rehab’. Other award winning Comic Strip films include ‘The Strike' and 'Five Go Mad In Dorset' and his first movie ‘The Supergrass’ (1985) which was a hit in the UK.
Other feature films written and directed by Peter Richardson include 'Churchill – The Hollywood Years' (2004), starring Christian Slater and Neve Campbell, 'The Pope Must Die' (1991) with Robbie Coltrane, 'Eat The Rich' (1986) with Motorhead, and 'Stella Street' (2004) with John Sessions and Phil Cornwell, who won best comedy actors at the Aspen Film Festival.
Peter Richardson has produced and starred in over 40 other Comic Strip films including 'A Fistful Of Travellers Cheques', 'Bad News', 'Four Men In A Car' and 'Gino'.
The Comic Strip also starred Rik Mayall, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French, Adrian Edmondson, Robbie Coltrane, Alexei Sayle, Keith Allen, Nigel Planer, and many other well known British comedians. A DVD of the complete Comic Strip collection is currently on release in the UK and US.
Apart from creating a TV comic for BBC2, The Glam Metal Detectives (1993), he has also directed several dozen commercials and pop promos, including work for Kate Bush, Chrissie Hynde and Jeff Beck and directed Glorious with Eddie Izzard.
